The last of my tour around the Beverston Castle grounds and we come to a tree that like the buildings is hundreds of years old. This is just outside the castle entrance, and you can see the old barn down the road.
Now like us old pensioners this tree needs some help in standing up as straight as possible, in my case I'm now using a good walking stick, never thought that would happen, but old age comes quickly.
Obviously this tree has a very big lean, and therefore two wooden posts has been added to give it strength. Look closely at the top left and you will see that the trunk has been cut off, otherwise there would have been even more weight on that side of the tree.
Now I'm not a tree expert but this could be an old oak tree, perhaps you experts can advice me. Whatever it is I'm glad that it has been given some help to continue living. I'm grateful for all the help I get in my older days.
