There is a saying that we should always keep to the Straight and Narrow, but just what does that mean. This should mean leading a honest and decent life and doing nothing immoral or illegal.
Now I do feel that I have done this thanks to my Father and Mother in my upbringing, hopefully I have shown my own children how to live in the straight and narrow.
I have looked back at my long years and searched my mind of anything I might have done to fall off the edge of this life journey. The only thing that I can remember was in my late teens driving up to Scotland before the days of motorways.
I was pulled over by the police for speeding in Carlisle, and as the policeman got his book out a large lorry speed by, well over the 30mph speed limit. The policeman put his book back into his pocket and rushed off shouting, "Don't do it again". Further up the road he was booking the lorry driver, which was lucky for me, and I felt like stopping and thanking that lorry driver.
As for this capture, I'm looking down the Sharpness to Gloucester Canal, I think you would agree that it is a bit straight and narrow.
A great story -- our generation was always taught the rules of the straight and narrow and even the thought of how we would be punished deterred us from straying ( too far !!)!
Nice shot as well.
