"Then & Now", Strawberry Bank

This is a back up to my main photograph today and shows one of my "Than & Now" pictures. We are near Oakridge Lynch, near Stroud and the site of where a German Junkers plane was shot down by a Hurricane in WWII, the British Hurricane also crashed killing the brave pilot

Just before it crashed it skimmed the bell tower of Oakridge Lynch primary school with the pupils looking out of the windows. Three of the four German pilots survived and were captured nearby.
