This morning I woke up much too early and for no good reason decided to look out the window. I have to admit I was sort of happy and excited to see our first snowfall of the year. I know in a few months I will not be so happy about it, but for now I'll enjoy it.
I've been in an odd mood the last few days, I wouldn't call it grumpy... but something like that. Maybe I'm just tired. So I went for a walk in the woods to clear my mind and get some exercise. It was really nice with all the snow. However I forgot to bring my mittens, and I should have worn my boots rather than my running shoes. Needless to say I was cold and my fingers and toes were numb by the time I got home.
Fortunately a warm bath, followed by some hot chocolate made it all better.
If there's a warm bath, fire and a hot toddy at the end to cold walk, chore, day or whatever, it's always nice comfort! Lovely photo, Lauren. It's very dreamy and soft like the first snow.
I always love the first snow - then start grumbling about it after Christmas. ;-) About 1 hour north of us also had their first snowfall - I'm sure we'll get some before the end of November.
For some reason, chocolate covered twiglets have just sprung to mind. Glad you enjoyed your walk. I have this quote about walking that you might like. "“Few people know how to take a walk. The qualifications are endurance, plain clothes, old shoes, an eye for nature, good humor, vast curiosity, good speech, good silence and nothing too much.”
I'm like you. I feel like an excited lil kid right now seeing the snow, but sooner or later I'm sick of it!!!! You forgot your mittens AGAIN!!! Tsk Tsk Lauren!! Lol. You need the mittens on a string and then put through the sleeves of your jacket! Lol. That way they will always be there :D
