My photo club is heading to Washington D.C. on Saturday to get the moon rising over the monuments.
Thought I'd better practice some setting so took some shots out my bedroom window before I headed to volleyball tryouts. Tonight was perfect with no clouds in the sky hope the clouds don't spoil Saturday night shoot.
@lesip - someone mentioned to me that i have to adjust my exposure compensation to get the details of the moon like this. i can't quite get it right with my dslr, no matter what settings i tried. but the next time we have a moon i will experiment with the exposure setting. let me know how it goes with your moon rise photos, please. thank you.
Leslie, I was taught to use the Sunny 16 Rule for the Moon. Focus away from Moon and then refocus. tripod a must and remote control. Works pretty good.
@summerfield if I understand exposure compensation it doesn't play a role when you are in Manual mode. I do get much better pictures in Aperture mode using it.
