Decided to go check on the Canada (not Canadian) geese at the lake yesterday. With the freezing temps that we have had the past week or so the lake is almost frozen over. Hundreds of geese started arriving that last hour before the sun went down. I think they were pretty surprised at how little open water was left.
Gorgeous color and silhouette! This evening as we were eating dinner, we heard what sounded like dogs barking, but it was the geese overhead. They were headed toward the river, but where they had been all day, we couldn't guess.
