Pile Of Pieces

We received this wonderful 3D puzzle from my oldest and his wife. The instruction pamphlet is 6 pages. It's been sitting in the box for about two weeks now and I finally got it out for a picture. LOL
Challenge excepted but it might be next Christmas before it looks anything like the picture. What were they thinking ?????
