Corgarff Castle

Much to the disgust of SatNav I did not take its suggested route to Aberdeen but went via Tomintoul and pictured Corgarff Castle. A very bleak but beautiful part of the country.
Satnav got its revenge as I neared Aberdeen by sending me down single track roads. Still we managed to arrive in one piece.
An odd castle shape - says..."An isolated tower house in the Cairngorms that was a residence of the high-status Forbes family" How very interesting and appealing!

Ah, Corgarff! Lovely shot. We get this view regularly as we pass by coming back from our Munro expeditions. It's always lovely. I wonder if your satnav detour was linked to the road closure near Tomintoul. We had to do a few extra miles because of it on Friday, as we wanted to get to Chapeltown of Glenlivet, and had to drive round by the Bridge of Avon and Glenlivet Trails.

@jamibann the satnav was ok until it put us on South Deeside Road. Don’t know why I use it as I knew where I was going. Was thinking the area would be well known to you.
