Baile nan Gàidheal

Today was a travel day, broken up by a visit to Baile nan Gàidheal, the Highland Village living history museum and Gaelic folklife centre. It was fascinating, despite the heavy rain. The museum shows the history of Scottish immigrants to Nova Scotia, from the 1770s through the 1920s. This image was taken in An Taigh-logaichean, the log house circa about 1780. A hard, hard life, for sure.
I like the feeling of peeking out and seeing the beauty beyond the window

The eye first settling on the warm light and object inside and then taken outside with a deep sigh

This needs to be seen on black where it really makes you feel like you are inside the house and looking out. The light through the window is fabulous.

How I wish we had come to this location! We've been by, but didn't visit...always seemed short on time, trying to get from one place to the next before returning to Lunenburg...
