Snapping Turtle by ljmanning

Snapping Turtle

Snapping Turtles are Canada’s largest freshwater turtle, and are known for their incredible powerful bite. They love brackish, muddy water and often have algae growing on their shells. Or, in this one’s case, a snail on its head.
From yesterday’s (sunny) trip to the park.
Wow- how did you even see that?!

Fantastic capture! I saw one on the side of the road at the park this week trying to cross the road. I got out and was going to try and move him the other way but he turned around and did it on his own. They are really HUGE aren't they!
