Another local history outing today, to Westfield Heritage Village. The buildings are all still closed but you can walk the grounds and trails.
This is a piece of the equipment from the shingle mill, circa 1900. The mill cut wooden roof shingles to a uniform size and thickness. Very labour intensive!
