High Water by lsquared

High Water

Missouri River from Columbia Bottom Conservation Area. The water was 3-4 feet above flood stage at the nearest gauge (which is about 20 miles upstream), probably 8-10 feet above normal.

This photo is from the same general area, at more "typical" river stage:

The water doesn’t look like it’s moving very fast. We’ve seen so many scenes of rivers out of their banks right now in the Midwest, hope you are not having flooding.

THANKS all!

It looks peaceful, but the water is pretty high, and moving frightfully fast. It is "officially" minor flooding at the nearest gauge to this spot (St. Charles, MO), but Moderate not far up the Mississippi River.
