This funky little building sits along the Illinois River shore, in Pere Marquette State Park. I often wonder what its purpose was through the years, but I've never found any information on it. It flood quite regularly, at least the bottom stone portion. I suspect it may have been a barge landing spot in the distant past, but maybe not.... Not the river is frozen over right now, except for the current barge channel.
