I had a lovely lunch today at Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve to celebrate @NicoleCampbell's (actual) birthday. A group of overseas tourists were very exited when we came across this emu ambling along one of the paths.
about 10 feet or so Clare - they roam free in the sanctuary (which is really large - 90 minutes to walk around) but they are certainly not 'tame'. It 'barked' at me, so I kept my distance & did not block it's way, and I suggested the overseas tourists near it be respectful of those powerful legs.
