So much rain in the last week, many of the roads are flooded. We have had water restrictions for most of the last seven years because the dams have been dangerously low, and now for the first time the new dam has overflowed. This is the smaller city lake dam, and this is the first time I have ever seen the gates opened in this way. Dozens of people were on the viewing platform taking photographs in the rain.
Great capture Lyn. Last time I was here, a few months ago, there were people standing in front of it trying to catch fish. And how nice is it to finally see the sun this afternoon.
nice shot Lyn, I couldn't believe how many people were there when we drove past. We tried to go out to Gibraltar Falls and the cotter today but all the roads were closed. There were so many people parking their cars at the cotter and walking down to the bridge, which is what we did :)
@bdb3471@peterdegraaff I am heading up to QLD later in the week - do you think there is any chance of sunshine & some dry weather up there??? My roof is leaking & the yard has 2 inches of water over it...
@ltodd We've had infrequent showers here as well and they will hang around till Wednesday. After that they are predicting some sunny days, just be prepared for some humid conditions.
Great capture Lyn, the trouble with weather is it only seems to operate at the extremes, hopefully you have now got enough water and the sun will come out again!
amazing to see all this H2O after years of drought
