This statue of the poet Dante, who lived in Verona from 1312 to 1318 is in on of the many small piazzas in the city. The buildings are of 14th and 15th century, and although not in particularly good repair, the workmanship is quite amazing. Many of the buildings, as you can see here, have the remains of very ornate paintwork.
Verona is a lovely, stylish city indeed.
