What do you 'see' when you look at at yourself in a mirror? .... how you would like to be seen?.... a face that is just not quite 'good enough' ?...or an image that is the sum of a lifetime of experience?
Looking through my calendar I noticed I have taken few very 'masculine' shots, and that there were no male coworkers, so here is Pete, who kindly agreed to help me, even though he was quite bemused as to why I would not let him smile, which in itself made us both start laughing!!
I think the tight crop of this shot is one that works much better viewed large, and then from a distance, rather than than as a thumbnail. -- when I visit the National Portrait Gallery I am really conscious of the scale of the images & the feeling of being 'watched intensely' by the portraits that surround me.
this is very well done.....and i love the backstory of you guys cracking up.....you can't guess it by looking at how intense he looks in this final shot.
