My Get pushed buddy for the week, Michelle Blackford ( @tryeveryday ) wrote - I love your muted tones that so many of your photos are in....since I see a lot of photos in those tones, I'm going to challenge you to do something that contains very bright, saturated colors. I'll leave the subject matter up to you, just as long as it has rich, vibrant colors.
This painting on canvas by an unknown artist is for sale in the window of the local thrift shop. :-D
...I bet this emu is smiling because he has stolen a little child's lunch........
Reg Mombassa designed for Mambo clothing, played in the successful band 'Mental as Anything', and (gasp!) I just read he is yet another Aussie 'imported' from New Zealand. http://regmombassa.com/ Years ago I bought a Mombassa 'loud shirt' from a thrift shop for $2, but I could also buy the same one from a collector in the US .....for $150... !
Jenny Kee and Ken Done. are other Australian artists who worked with the 'supersaturated' colour palette.
I think you're drawn to the long eyelashes! Lol:)) These shots are so fun and definitely fit the bill for vibrant colors. I love that this one makes me smile!! It just screams silly & happy & fun...fav!
Great find, although I have a fear of emus (yes really!) so perhaps not one for me! Thanks for your comments on my photos - much appreciated. Have really enjoyed looking through your album - some really nice shots in there :) So my Get-Pushed challenge for you this week is to do some night time long exposure photography - hope you enjoy. Looking forward to the reciprocal challenge - I didn't recieve one last week so am now raring to go!
