If you ask a 3 yrs old what they did today, most will say "I just played with my friends". Children have an inate inclusivity for who is their friend, but as we age, we become far more selective about who we consider as 'friends'. Adults have categories of cyber-friends, work-friends, friend-friends, and even family-friends.
I noticed most children stories have friendship as a central theme, and I liked this image of an open circle - the group are ready to embrace a new friend....
Get-pushed challenges are sometimes about venturing into unfamiliar photographic territory, sometimes refining an existing skill, and sometimes it is a 'reflective exercise' like this, where my awareness for future images has been enhanced. Sometimes it takes me longer than 7 days to "get it",.... but that's OK!! :)
@alicew31 :) thanks Alice - I think I have a long way to go with interpretive photography (and that's OK!)...I had a frustrating week ... and felt my shots were a bit of a 'lame' attempt to represent something as visceral as 'friendship'...I probably over-thought the process! I will tag you in the future if/when I might get a shot that is better !! Thanks for the challenge x
