Today we drove from Hanoi through the mountains (which are very steep with very narrow roads) to a little valley. I have really struggled to chose my shot for the day because we have seen so many different sides of Vietnam in a single day - suburbs, temples, bike riding through the rice fields we were stopped by a water buffalo and her baby calf, the view that the local White Thai tribe call 'the doorstep of Heaven', and this is where we are staying - 'bed & breakfast' Mai Chau style! We are sleeping on the floor under mosquito nets, but the view is so breathtaking we wont mind at all!
Our dinner of bbq'd cat fish balls wrapped in betal leaf came straight from the farm fish pond. Cold showers & very little electricity, but certainly a night to remember!
@mgozzard thanks so much Margaret - I was really going crazy trying to select the 'one' shot that had captured the entire day in a single scene - I should know that was not going to be possible! LOL!
I'm sorry for your struggles choosing photos, I do the same after an exhausting day of wonder. I'm glad you posted this one because it's a glimpse into a private place. So nice to read the commentary about the rest of the day as well!
