while swimming after kayaking and trying to photograph the sea mullet underwater in the cove, my underwater camera decided to impersonate a sponge and ingest copious amounts of water.... so this photo of my daughter is the last photo ever to be taken on the camera (yep, that's water on the *inside* of the camera folks!!) and retrieved from an apparently waterproof SD card!!
RIP little camera.....but in truth, I can't wait to replace you with a better model.
Lovely photo... Too bad about the camera... I have the Olympus tg (I think?)... Makes me crazy to use because it just isn't a DSLR, but did the trick when we were in the Bahamas last year...
@northy yes I am tossing up between a new waterproof compact and a waterproof case for my Canon Powershot S15 (are the same $). The Olympus micro seems to have reasonable reviews - I was always disappointed with the Pentax. Also about to bite the bullet & go MAC Book Pro - ahhh.... have procrastinated for almost a year - any tips?
It was a bit of a learning curve to go from pc to Mac... But I can't imagine going back now... And generally speaking I can switch quite easily between my work pc laptop and the Mac...
Main tip is go w the most memory possible... I didn't and that's my only regret... Working w raw files and Photoshop eats up space really quickly... I move everything into external storage, but still occasionally run into space challenges...
Oh, man... BUMMER about the camera. But how cool to upgrade!!! I've been thinking of a Mac as well, but all the software I own for the PC. What a royal pain and $$ to switch. Good luck!
