willie no-tail by ltodd

willie no-tail

You can't see the tail of this particular Australian fantail, which has a scientific name of Rhipidura leucophrys, but is known as the Willie Wagtail by everyone.

I ventured 25 km away to the Jerrabombera Wetlands today, but had no joy finding any waterbirds, but fortunately did manage to spent some time getting up close & personal with a family of willie wagtails.
I'm at a loss for words, this is truly beautiful - Big FAV

Loove the fluff! Beautiful subtle tones you have chosen for the backdrop.

@sassik thanks! I took a few wrong turns with colour choice & texture of backdrop with this one. I learnt that I had to balance the strong 'white' & 'fluffiness' of the feathers with a subtle background colour & tone. Ahh photography is just one big learning curve... :)

@ltodd It really works well here!
And so true about the learning curve... Just glad it is also so rewarding and fun ;)
