I have had GIfs on my bucket list for ages, so thought I better give it a go.
This one was made in Photoshop following Kali's link - it went OK but every step had to be read carefully!
This is 3 frames 1024 pixels wide , 96 ppi @ 1 Meg and it loaded fine. I upped the frame size to 1640 pixels wide @ 2.4 Meg & the Gif saved fine at a better image quality - but it would not animate once uploaded to 365 site.
Happy I have learnt something new - but the impact of the image compression for photography might limit it's use for me, but I also probably chose an image with too much tonal variation that did not compress optimally.
When I go for running there is a little basin and we always meet a nice cormorant too! The have kind of majesty! This one looks smaller and different but also gorgeous! Love thecway he is in the branch!
Very impressive and such fun. As I was looking at this shot there was a kookaburra sitting on a tree outside my study and he was laughing, it sounded so funny with this image on the screen at the same time.
@ethelperry It might have been the sizes? I could not work out why the large one of mine would not animate either - what size (in pixels) and how many layers did you have? Have you got Image ready loaded? You might need to use that for PS5. Pretty sure it should work though.
@ethelperry what about this CS5 tutorial? http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/quick-photoshop-cs5-tutorial-create-animated-gifs/ - see the start images are 400 pixels wide & not 300 ppi - I used 96 because that is what I use for images on 365 ordinarily - but the image is probably only meant to be reasonably small, so that is why I think it looks a bit posterised here.
Oh wow you did so great with this! I'm not surprised, as I don't imagine there are many things you can't do in photography - but what a lovely gif! This bird is just awesome.
