NZ white heron. Revered for its long neck and elegant white feathers. I was lucky enough to spot one down at a West Coast lagoon where they are found. John was going make it fly away for a photograph but then another group of tourists spotted it too and headed towards it!
Three good things:
1. Lovely bird life down there - saw two paradise ducks and chicks waddling around. We generally call them paralysed ducks for fun!
2. Headed up the coast to Hokitika and chose not to do an expensive tree-top walk.
3. Rain on the roof! Can't hear it at home as our ceiling is too well insulated!
