Uninspired for the day, I found an idea from a book cover that I was reading. There was plenty of lavender to choose from and the sun was shining.
Three good things:
1. Got the lawns done and John took over after 1/2 hour. I looked out the window and he was stopped on the outside lawn talking to someone. That someone was a guy living along our road that asked if he was John Munro. Turned out he was in the Auckland motorbike shop in 1953 when John bought his first Mac Velocette! Small world, says John!
2. Bit lethargic today and didn't go for a bike ride. Didn't read my book, just aahed and oohed over the comments on my 'Another picnic"
3. Roast chicken with all the herbs from the garden.
What book are you reading maggiemae...that has to be my first question of course. Summer is for reading a book if you so feel like it.....lazy, hazy days of summer! Wonderful feel to this one.....textures & colour so inviting!
In the list of a word a day for Jan ( Extraordinary-r-January ) one of the words is -basket so you could tag this in your list of tags as - jan15 words , basket --Bulldog used to compile the words each month now another (forgotten her name ) compiles the monthly list !
@lindaagne365@pixiemac Thanks for the idea, Sarah and Linda! I'll have to find one of those cards on the net where you can put your own photo on to it!
A beautiful composition and a wonderful breath of summer for those of us living further north.Thank you Maggiemae. Enjoy your summer and you want to have a lazy day reading why not. I've decided I'm old enough to indulge myself in the occasional lazy day. In fact I'm so old if I don't I'll never get round to fitting any in!!!!
@maggiemae Actually I do! It's a very elegant straw hat that my grandmother (Aunt Peggy) used to wear for her gardening. I will have to resurrect that this spring when I start going out to photograph on the trails again.
Very lovely shot, Maggie. It's so pretty and soft and delicate and and and ... well ... fav! I love lavender (body spray, body gel, air freshener, linen spray, fabric softener ... um, what else?).
Just read some of the comments above....yes, lavender is very good for sleeping, and also I think for putting in among your woolen clothes to keep them from moths! I would love to go to a lavender farm to photograph these beauties!
