Oamaru on the highest cliffs; This was a pillbox - I think that’s what its called, built to defend the little town of Oamaru against invaders in the 2nd world war. Its not easy to get at but there is a gravel road running round the side of the ancient volcano. I rode with difficulty to this high place and stood in the same place as a few historic feet!
The group has also restored a 25 pounder gun Howitzer and that is fired at important events - just about blows your ears sideways!
Three good things:
1. You don’t meet any vehicles on this steep gravelled road so you can waver all over the way while you get your breath!
2. John spent all day trying to salvage my computer - he enjoyed the experience but is now mentally exhausted.
3. Got a good photo of the cat on our new carpet mat - in my other album. She just loves sitting there! And so do I!
Your red bike looks just amazing propped up,against that fence. The sky & sea all lit up by your sun. The sky has an almost pink tinge to it! A gravelly road is not easy to get a grip with tyres.......you & John will be shattered tonight !
Love your POV in this shot Maggiemae! Awesome that you rode your bike up the hill! Good girl. So glad you included it in your shot. Great comp. Love it!
