Today I asked John what photo I should endeavour to take. He suggested this building and away we drove down the highway in warm and summery weather. It was great being amongst these old buildings while members of the Vintage Machinery Group trundled their old tractors around wearing the right hat and a smile.
Three good things
1. A sisterly visit on the cusp of her 70th birthday! (Isn’t that a good word?)
2. The warm weather encouraged a party to start opposite us. Young guys rent this rural property and love having parties and in the past have had incredibly loud music going on throughout the night. Once we called the Noise Police. Anyway at 7pm the music started while the guys kicked a football into all sides of the property! John wandered over, climbed the fence and I photographed him talking to these guys who fortunately didn’t look aggressive! Photo and result on my other album.
2. The All Blacks didn’t perform the way everyone had expected. A bit of challenge is always good to get a team not taking anything for granted!
I know it was a sunny warm day, but the black and white gives us the impression of the total opposite! They give tours of the place- sounds like a good place to go with your camera!
I think the All Blacks were a bit complacent perhaps but they won very easily in the end. Harry would be interested in this! Looks an interesting place to visit! Engkand are losing to Australia this minute....how embarrassing if we go out of the World Cup & we are hosting! 3. 20 down in the 50th minute......poor stuff from England!
Great old building - b&w works really well. I was intrigued and just did a bit of research. Amazing that the machinery inside has been restored and is in working order.
@nickspicsnz There is a dedicated bunch of heroes who have spent hours and hours bringing this machinery back to life! Belts and pulleys slapping and whirring!
They look like very interesting old buildings with great texture, and I like your capture of them. Hope the Vintage Machinery Group were wearing something besides the right hats and a smile ... :)
That's a wonderful old building, and perfect in B&W! I was going to ask you if it was still operational, but upon reading the sign I see that the machinery is in full throttle most days of the week.
