Within my garden as I have said, so many poppies! There are purple ones as well as the red and hence the sweet yellow centre of the dark poppies.
Three good things:
1.. A big “1” - my chair arrived today courtesy of the owner of the furniture shop with his son who was so keen on meeting the son of Burt that he encouraged his father to bring the chair down from our next northern town.
2. Skyping both sons - one in Petersborough Canada and the other in Yokohama. Its like being there! I’ve got a great photo of youngest son and his first daughter plus beautiful wife. Taken off the screen.
3.When I can be bothered cleaning my specs, a new world opens up! Now I see the bird poo on the window!
So true ,but your no 3 creases me Maggiemae !!!! but I have the same problem in forgetting to clean my specs until the whole scene is misty !!
This is a beautiful capture , I simply love the depth and richness of the purple petals and the gorgeous clarity and detail of the centre --fav !
I decided to check my glasses and see if they needed cleaning as well! I'm not sure being able to see the bird poop on the window is an advantage to clean glasses though!
So funny, I love #3 GT, I have exactly the same problem & sometimes I can hardly see out! I think bifocals attract smears & the only way to clean them is with washing up liquid & a good old wash. @beryl We are all the same!
Exciting news re chair......that's the way to get good service then, be a celebratoryz, we have talked to both sons too today but only on the phone. Love poppies & this is a very unusual colour.
Oh my, this is so different. With your sons being so far away, how often do you see them. Skyping is wonderful Yes, like being there! Almost! . Will either of the boys be home for Christmas. One lives in Yokohama?
@aglennc Yes, one in Japan, the other in Canada! They both started travelling around the age of 19. Either to get away from us or to log on to the travel genes we have!
@maggiemae Haha! Our kids too. Dad and I have always had a travel bug, and the kids went with us (never abroad but throughout the States) when they were at home. Now they're doing it. We love camping in our motorhome; our son and wife have one now...... do the same thing.. At least they live close. One is 10 minutes away from us, with his wife, the other is two hours north of us. We text and phone --- no skyping need..... yet.
Such a rich velvety texture to the petals! Beautiful colours - great shot! How exciting to get your chair delivered by a fan! He must have been over the moon by the gift! It must be hard at times with your family so far away. I know you Skype but it's not the same!
@taffy Thanks Miss Taffy! Am esconced on Number 1, remembering No 2 and 3, I need to clean them again! When you use the camera viewfinder it gets shoved against your glasses if you want a still shot!
