Built of dried mud and straw, this was built as an accommodation refuge for those passing by - probably on horse and carriage. The Paterson family ran it -( how many were they and how many rooms did they have to offer, I can’t find out) but they left after 13 years and this was eventually restored beautifully and is now an historic place.
Three good things;
1. More Data Hunt brought us with a total over over 3gb each.
2. Our son and DIL in snowbound Canada skyped us on the road down to the coast. It was -7degrees there with an expected -27 in the weekend. Here it was cold but really 14 degrees isn’t cold by comparison!
3. Home at the end of the day brought mixed feelings…. sad that we couldn’t go on and on… but pleased that the bed was bigger!
What a pretty cottage- must have been a welcome sight for weary travelers. I like the way you've processed this shot- fits the historical content of the picture.
