Typical by maggiemae

Typical

Oldest is 19 and the other just turned 15 and the latter would be on his computer from 7.30am to 10pm if he was allowed. He's not but takes very little notice.
Three good things;
1. Off for a walk around the harbour for exercise and a way to put the phones and computers away.
2. Neither said, "I'm bored - what is there to do"! Of course.
3. All my roses pruned by their parents who are hardly ever on their phones etc.
It is definitely a different time from when we were children. This looks typical to me and my family too.

A sign of the times unfortunately,

@happypat Its quite small really - can just seat 6. But very nice for us two!

@maggiemae Ours is the same.

My 16yo is on a 50-mile hike over 4 days, even though it's cold and rainy.
December 27th, 2018
@homeschoolmom Oh goodness - he will hopefully remember it without the damp conditions! Maybe the food will be good!
December 27th, 2018
So typical of kids today!
December 27th, 2018
@radiogirl yes....and every second word is 'like'!
December 27th, 2018
I don't know which is better or worse- teens sitting around with heads bowed and fingers racing over a cell phone OR teens sitting around rolling their eyes and looking at you with the unspoken question "when are we leaving? I'm bored!" expressions all day. Fun shot.

@olivetreeann Well said, Ann! Exactly right!
December 28th, 2018
Ann @olivetreeann has said it perfectly.

This is a classic shot of today's adolescents. Almost like part of a documentary.
December 28th, 2018
Familiar....
December 28th, 2018
@taffy Maybe we should give them 'toasts' now and then.... I've learnt that when you toast anything to anybody, you look them in they eye!
December 28th, 2018
@corymbia It is really all round the world! Except perhaps in Eskimo Land where their IT devices would freeze!
December 28th, 2018
Oh, Dear.....here too....like your three good things.
December 28th, 2018
@happysnaps Its nice to know we (365 friends) all have the same
experiences
December 28th, 2018
Impervious to life as we know it. Wait until they have girlfriends...I suspect they're the same!
December 28th, 2018
@s4sayer I've seen videos of those girlfriends staring into the distance while their boyfriends are catching up.... or vice versa!
December 28th, 2018
Well I’m glad you got your roses pruned. Smile.

Lee
They are guided by us, Unfortunately I see a lot of the parents doing the same thing. Have you shown the boys this shot?
December 28th, 2018
Teenagers! Hopefully there will be a generation soon that decides to talk to each other.
December 28th, 2018
Haa! This is what our two do all day long given the chance!
December 28th, 2018
@gamelee No, I haven't but they know what they do - their mother is always telling them to get off the computer!
December 28th, 2018
Is not so bad. We are also still sitting in computers.
