in Lockdown! Being in the aged bracket we got free flu jabs but today under lockdown we had to park in a particular place and the nurse would come out and give us the needle in the car! I caught her in the middle of jabbing.
Thankful for:
Being in a country that supports the elderly ( if we are brave enough to call ourselves that)
Snap, Took my Mum and we both had ours today, though none of the nurses even had masks on let alone any other safety gear. I felt like a naughty kid getting out in the car as it was the first time out of our bubble since lockdown. I have to admit I took the long way home as it was so nice being out.
We had our flu jab today too, but waited in the surgery until our names were called. no masks & no gloves...but, with chairs well spaced....we are classed as elderly too...ha-ha
So there are some advantages in being classed as elderly - even though I have been getting them for years because of my asthma. I got to sit in a chair just inside the pharmacy door a couple of weeks ago to get mine. It was my last social outing - haha.
I’m a big fan of vaccines, even if I am not particularly fond of the thought of a needle poking into my body... This photo could feature on a newspaper: new methods... @onewing hahaha.
Great idea....would save you the bother of getting out of the car & parking up. You escaped for a bit too....bet you were quite excited!
We just did our clapping for our NHS ....we forget other people have to pay for such things!
Great idea Babs. Our clinic has run out of the 65+ shots and doesn't know when more will be available. Fortunately, I'd registered myself at the chemists' and got a call yesterday giving me an appointment in 12 days time. Not ideal, but I'm very relieved to know I'm close to getting my jab. The pharmacy is scheduling the flu shot after the shop shuts to minimise risk too.
@maggiemae Not good, but since the medical clinic seems to have no idea of when they'll have any vaccine, a definite date sounds much better to me. Great idea to glam up for your Big Outing.
@onewing hahaha.
