Honoring All Who Served

This shot was hard to resist. We are spending our last two nights with my husband's high school best friend. At the time, they both knew they would be drafted into the Vietnam war, chose to volunteer and pick their branch of service...Navy. The thought was that they didn't float battleships in rice paddies. However, overlooked was the fact that the Navy provided the medical corps for the Marines. They were trained as combat corpsman and served all their service time with the Marines. That makes them Marines first, since they never served with the Navy again. - This human still-life threw candy at us after we put money in his bucket - all the while looking so statuesque.
Wonderful capture

How ironic the running away people behind him- those who didn't want to recognize the sacrifice these men made? I love the capture of him so clear and the blurred ones there too.

Great picture Becky but I'm so happy for you to have two pictures chosen by experts to be exhibited at the Center in Eugene. Congratulations. I'm proud of you. Love, Mom
