At our school we have a reading reward program for grades K-6 which is sponsored by our local Masonic organization and Walmart. The kiddos read and earn a ticket for every twenty minutes they read and the tickets get put into a big bucket. At the end of the time frame we have an assembly and tickets are drawn for a variety of small prizes and for the bike. The winner gets to go to Walmart (with the students from the other 2 schools in the area who do the same thing) and choose their bike and a helmet. This is our winner "showing off" his new bike in the elementary hallway. How happy does he look?! And I have to say that when his name was drawn yesterday one of his sisters nearly broke her face with the huge grin she had for him... one of the sweetest things I have ever seen! :)
@debsphotos Thanks... it is a wonderful program and we feel very fortunate that they have been able to sustain this program for 3 years. He is probably one of the most deserving kids in the school.
