Come In

The door to "my" room... Not sure why it is so blue... I was twisting the mode dial on the dslr and have no idea what setting I was using here. :)
What a wonderful shot! I love the intricate detail on the door knob. They don't make them like that anymore! Captured beautifully.

@grammyn Thanks... and no they don't... it is one of the many things I love about my 116-year-old home.
@boycotting Thank you... :)

I like the hint of blue.

@rach_who Thanks... I like it, too, but it is certainly not the true color... :)

Looks cool! Maybe you should paint your door this color!

@wannabe Thanks... Unfortunately that would involve a lot of other painting since it is actually on the dining room side, but I could do it to the side that is in my room. I have been wanting to get rid of the yucky carpet in this room... I could kill two birds... :) Thanks for the great idea... now I just have to talk my painter and handyman into it! :)

@hjbenson Thanks... I love my old doorknobs! :)

Was the light balance on a setting like "Tungsten Light" or something? That will make it blue.
January 6th, 2012
@debsphotos I don't think I did anything with the white balance... but who knows? I was just messing around and took a bunch of shots on different settings and this was the one the had the best frame and focus.

@marilyn - you caught the detail on the hardware wonderfully.

@debsphotos Thank you so much! :)

Lovely door knob! Just make sure your "auto white balance" is selected when in manual mode and the camera should help out.....but learning what the other settings offer is helpful at times :)

@heidievans73 Thanks! I wasn't in full manual but I think I may have been aperture priority... I need to write down what settings I use for how many shots so I can tell what was happening at each setting! Truthfully, with being sick I am not at my peak performance level so I think I should just shoot on auto until I am fully well. :)

That is a fancy smancy doorknob. Great shot of it too!

@myhrhelper Thanks, Kathy... We have several of these in our 116-year-old home and they were all here when we bought it over 30 years ago.
