I shot this about mid December, but did NOT want to post it around the holidays. So here it is... Does anyone else see the creepy figures in the fungus? I found this growing on top of a tree stump. Tell me what you see in it?
hm a moment ago i saw a man thing crouched over, kinda gimpy,, now i see other things, well done, spooky, two ppl died in au yesterday from eating mushrooms :(
@esmeanne That's almost but, not quite what I see, Ann! Ugh! 2 people? Wow! They should stick to the ones they know aren't poisonous or get educated about all the edible ones. I love edible mushrooms but, you don't find many of those growing in the wild around here.
I see sort of a round headed body curled up in a fetal position like its cradling another smaller body.. Almost like its eating something it doesn't want to share.. I can even make out facial features like the eye and a nose O.O
@buggus Oleta, you just about nailed it! That's just about what I see, too! A creepy mother with a creepy baby and she's crouched over with webbed like hands and feet. Her baby's hand is up by her head. Thank you for commenting! I appreciate it, gal! Was wondering if I was the only one who would see that!
I must be hungry. At first I saw melted chocolate or frozen Coca-Cola. The more I look at it, the more I see some creature engulfing another smaller one. Nice capture of interesting fungi.
if i ignore the bright bits marlboro and concentrate on the dark bits, I see a tiny dog licking ET :).....the bright bits are a bit doughnut like .two pics in one :)
I see a fetus-like figure lying on its side, top of the head on the left, one hand up on the side of its head, legs curled up on the right. Very odd, and very cool! I don't think it's creepy since it's really a fungus. Fabulous find and capture! 8D
@karenann Not at all! We all speak from our own worlds and experiences! I can appreciate your comments and where they came from! It's amazing how different people see different things in shapes. There was no right or wrong answer here and I just wanted to read what everyone else might see it the shapes of that fungus growth.
This looked like someone curled up with a finger in their ear at first then a very strange mushroom, but out in the country you can expect to see almost anything. It is a different shot but a good one due to the lighting on it and the colors in the photo.
Hmmmm- I've looked and looked and I don't see anything...not even if I squint. You know those magic eye things....can't do 'em :( There's something wrong with the creative side of my brain...lol Cool shot though!
LOL--I spent some time in a deer stand last year staring at a fungus growing from the side of the tree, trying to decide what it looked like. As you can tell, the deer were really moving and I was really "hunting" hard! ha ha....Oh the creative mind and how it wanders :P
i can see what Oleta sees here....SO weird!! i had to sit and stare at it for a while tho to see SOMETHING, but it was fun :D lol. Neat shot! great details!
@kdimagery LOL! Thank you, Kd! It's fun how the creative mind works and different folks see different things in the shapes. Thank you for the comments!
It looks like two people melting into each other. Alternatively, two kids dropped something really small and now they are looking for it. I like this picture...makes me use my imagination :)
OK. I'm going out on a limb here, so please don't think me weird or sexually obsessed. If I let my mind wander slightly biological and slightly pornographic, I think I can make a case for a rather deflated penis springing forth from a horribly swollen left testicle and smaller by comparison, right testicle, parting and penetrating through equally swollen and distorted labia into mushroom nirvana in broad daylight and plain sight. On the other hand I also see the much more mundane and placid turtle with a very large head climbing out from under an enormous crab who is busily sucking his brains out. Or the latest architectural design for a new Sydney Opera House. Or the Chocolate and Vanilla scoops of ice cream freshly fallen from their cone off camera to the right. Or Mushrooms growing on an old stump. So much for "Photo Rorschach" tests...
@otdafot Wow! I never saw that one coming! Still can't see your first mentioned shape in this fungus at all. Interesting how many things you can see in the shapes though. You have a great imagination and a very creative mind for sure!
@marlboromaam I am so glad that you can't see the nightmare I described in my first perverted observation. An unleashed mind is a scary thing to witness. I hate to think how scary mine could become should Alzheimer's gallop into my life. Hopefully, those who love me will shield the world from my twisted observations when I am no longer able to do that for myself. I love your photography and your positive feedback that you provide to all who comment on your photos as well as the praise you lavish on those we both happen to be following.
@otdafot Let's hope neither one of us fall victim to any form of dementia or Alzheimer's. Got to keep the mind active and always trying to learn new things as this stimulates different paths within the brain!!! Thank you so very much for your very kind and thoughtful comments about my comments and photography. I am very humbled. I never really stop to think that others may be reading my comments. Wow! It's really sort of a shocker! It'll keep me on my toes! LOL!
