Best viewed large. Supposed to be a wild native "shrub," this one is about 20 feet tall. I said I would show you what this plant looked like. You can get an idea of scale with my old mailbox in the lower right hand corner. You can see some of its branches making an "X" crossing nearly in the center. It really is a beautiful plant all year long. I love its waxy leaves and how its branches just drape over everything when its flowering like now. It is loaded!!! Will keep an eye out for the berries before the critters eat them all.
WOW ... have never seen a Sparkleberry tree before. Must give you lots of privacy from the road? I am guessing that it's near the entry to your drive, since it's by the mailbox on the road. Beautiful tree and can't wait to see the berries.
@cocobella LOL! Not quite! Thank you for stopping by, Corinne!
@karenann It's on the other side of my driveway, Karen! Across the road. Hoping to get some shots of the berries. Thank you for your kind comments and visit! Most appreciated!
@yonnie Thank you for your kind comments, Yvonne! Always appreciated!
@darsphotos Thank you, Darlene! Appreciate your comments! I do have a lot of upkeep, but I can also walk around with a pistol strapped to my hip, I can play my music as loud as I want and I can run around naked in my backyard if I want to! LOL!
@marlboromaam Sounds and looks like a perfect place to live, Maggie. You are too funny. I would love it, though not so much the upkeep and so would my son who plays a loud saxophone, that I love hearing him play but all windows closed when he plays and has to stay inside.
@sharritta Just a country place. Thank you so much Sharon!
@darsphotos Yeah, that's the way it is in the suburbs! I'd rather have to do the upkeep! I'd actually love to hear a sax in the woods or a flute or a violin! Would be very cool!
@dishaparekh176 Thank you, Disha! The world around us is a beautiful place!
Beautiful tree. I loved the pic of the flowers, and can't get over how something that small came from something so big. Thanks for putting this in perspective for us.
@marlboromaam When I get a clip of my son playing his saxophone, I will send it to you. They are on my computer and I do not know how to share them or send them. Love the saxophone, guitar and most music. You would fit in here well as we all love music so much and a vast array of it. But you would be squished within tract homes.
Talk about massive! Wow. *is speechless* I wish I had all that greenery to look at every day. (Because concrete walls get boring after a while. Really.) Cool shot. Thank you for showing us! 8)
@ulpiphotos Thank you, Ulpi! Appreciate you stopping by!
@cmc1200 Thank you, Caryn! It's probably very old!
@darsphotos On your 365 screen, do you ever review the discussions for "themes and competitions?" You can also see some of them on your main feed screen on the right hand side under "Latest Topics, Hottest Discussions, Weekly Theme," etc. You can choose what to and what not to participate in. You can also "search" discussions for a particular theme by typing "key words" into the search window. Hope this helps answer your question. If not let me know!
@jaboney Thank you, Mike! Really appreciate your comments! I think it is a very old bush. It's probably been there for at least 20 years, perhaps longer.
@myhrhelper Thank you, Kathy! I do love living in the country vs. the city or the burbs!
@darsphotos Darlene, you can set up a YouTube account and upload your vid to YouTube. I'm sure your son could help you with that. You can also set who can see your vid, the whole world or only those who have the link.
@vickisfotos Thank you, Vicki! Really appreciate your comments! I've never never noticed the berries. Probably because they're not around long enough for me to notice, so I've never eaten them. They may not be fit for human consumption. Wild black berries and dew berries are great but wild strawberries have no flavor! So, I'm not sure how a wild berry in the blueberry family would taste. But, I will try to find out!
@redrucksack Thank you, Eva! Appreciate your comments and visit!
@pointnshoot28 Thank you, Donna! I wish that tree was on my property, but it's across the road from my little two and one half acres.
@ellimae It's wild, Ellen and grows on the other side of the road from my little two and one half acres. It's probably at least 20 years old, maybe older. Thank you for your kind comments and visit.
@myautofocuslife Aww! I wish you had more greenery to look at, too, Livia! Concrete every day would make me shrivel up and just die inside. Thank you for your lovely comments and visit!
@sangwann Thank you, Dione! Your comments are most appreciated!
@marlboromaam Maggie, we have a lot of those in our area that spread across blocks. They are listed as invasive plants but I still think they're pretty. In the autumn they all turn spectacular colors.
@cimes1 Carole, this is a "native and wild" plant found in South Carolina. It's not an invasive species. It's a member of the blueberry family and important to wild life (birds and other critters) as a food source.
@lizzy_lu123 Thank you, Lisa! Really appreciate your comments! I can tell who read the descriptions and who doesn't! LOL!
@marlboromaam Thank you for the info about YouTube. I think he wanted to keep the band videos private and his band director mentioned that he did not want to see anything on YouTube. Will have to talk to my son again as he keeps putting it off. I think it is great that you can set this up for only certain people to view.
@marlboromaam Thank you about the info on themes. I have looked at the weekly one and done that one a couple of times. I run out of time and try just to keep up with posting photos, commenting on photos and I like to thank others for comments on mine individually though not always as I do run out of time. Will check this out more. I have had a number of new followers and I have done the same if I see someone is photographing what I am interested in. Takes time to do everything. I do not know how you keep up. I end up staying up too late at night too many nights and so tired when I do so.
@marlboromaam I am too. So overly tired. Have other things I need to get done. Not a fast one to type and not quick thinker and maybe I write too much.
I agree with the wild strawberries...have you had huckleberries...I am wondering if they might be close to your sparkleberries...we have wild blue berries too
@vickisfotos I'm not sure, Vicki. Whenever I discover a new plant, I search it to find out what it is. They may be a little further west of the midlands of SC. I love mulberries too, and that is a tree and grows in western NC, but too hot for it here. Too hot for raspberries here, also. But blackberries and dew berries grow like crazy and grow wild every where around here. I can't keep the blackberry vines out of my flower beds, nor the dew berries out of my ditch between my front yard and the road. LOL! Too hot here for grapes, too, except the wild muscadine and scupadine grapes.
@beckys Thank you, Becky!
@netkonnexion Thank you for your comments!

@darsphotos Aww! Always be yourself and let your heart be your guide! Don't let 365 change you, just your photography skills, if you know what I mean!
@peterdegraaff Thank you, Peter! Yep, I'm running out of other colors to shoot!
@pammerritt It's loaded with blossoms, Pam! I'll keep my eye out! Thank you for your kind comments and visit!
