Must view large! This is what's inside the gates of the wall I shot yesterday at Caughman Farms... Look familiar? It was built as a copy of Mount Vernon, and WOW, was it a stunner for passers by back when it was sparkling new! I haven't been all the way up the long drive to the house or the barns and stables in years! Not too sure I'd be welcome unless I was buying a horse and I don't have that kind of money. LOL! Hoping to have more shots of this place for you later on. Let's see if I can get inside the gates one day.
@cjphoto Thank you, Chris! No, that's the house that was built to look just like Mount Vernon, the famous historical house of our first president, George Washington.
Saw some similar in Kentucky last summer...with very unwelcoming messages!!!! Seems that serious buyers of horseflesh have appointments and very large bank accounts!
Really nice capture. The house looks great. But by the looks of the gate and the pavement, there is work to be done to get it back to its former glory.
@janturnbull Not sure. It was build way back in the early 70s. But, it has been "Caughman Farms" through several different owners! Thank you for your comments, Janet!
What is it with horses and money? The grounds of these places are stunning. Thanks for giving us a peek or what must go on in here. Cool that you a one time have been inside.
I love that drive up to the house. It looks like a beautiful place. I think you could just jump the fence and get a few more shots!:) Great composition and shot, Maggie!:)
Gorgeous entryway .... that's a "marlboromaam' entrance! Just ring their bell/buzzer and tell them you're there for a photo op! I'm sure that they'll let you in. :) Hey ... you never know. Lovely pov down that drive and sure is intriguing. :)
@cjphoto LOL! It's okay. Thank you, Chris!
