I got the word late yesterday! I will be a tax payer again in two weeks. I want to thank those of you who prayed for a job for me! It's been a very hard year and a half since my layoff and my savings are just about gone. Please continue to pray that God will give me the strength and stamina I need to do this job and do it well! I have never done anything like it before, but I am so thankful and grateful to be employed again and at my age! I am truly blessed to have this opportunity and boy, don't I know it!
On another note, It will be the last two weeks of my project when I begin work. Although I will try NOT to fall behind, it may happen. Please bear with me, since I will no longer have the luxury of all the time I have and had to spend here up to when I start working. Did that make any sense? LOL!
Answered prayers. I am so happy for you Maggie!!!!!
And fall behind all you want as long as you stay with us. You have been so kind to me to help me along and encourage me and share your work and wisdom. I appreciate that every day.
Oh, and I love the Crepe Myrtle. Fell in love with them on a trip down south and have planted three, all different kinds, in my yard since then. Gorgeous bokeh.
Yeah and congrats, Maggie. Will you be a professional photographer? Graphic designer? So happy for you to be blessed with work again, lady! Gorgeous shot to go with your story!!
First of all, Maggie, I love your photo. Gorgeous! They are still budding and blooming around here, too. Congratulations on your job....that's wonderful and good timing to coordinate with the ending of Year One. And don't you ever worry about falling behind. I'm constantly reminding others....this is your project to do with what & how you want and never ever stress out about falling behind! I am retired and still have a hard time keeping up...not with photos so much but with reading notifications, etc. I'd never be able to do what I do if I worked. Wishing you all the best in the next weeks to come.......hugs!
Yipeee!!! A perfect shot to go with fantastic news. Congratulations, Maggie!! And just to let you know, I'm on the same boat with work and life leaving me little time these days to keep up the way I'd like to. I still have a bit over two months left on my project but already stressing about what I'll do after that.
Lovely shot! These blossoms were well worth the wait. Congratulations on your new job! If the demands of your new job are too much, 365 will be waiting for you when you have the time to take and post your photos. I hope you continue past your 26 more, but I know that is selfish on my part. I enjoy seeing your shots and treasure your comments.
@vernabeth Thank you, Beth! Really appreciate your kind comments and visit!
@kdimagery Thank you, Kd! I really appreciate the vote of confidence. I need to build up my strength for all the walking and lifting I'll have to do, but should be great for me in the long run! Grateful for your lovely comments, too! xo
@raineyday You are very kind! Thank you so much, Rainy Day!
@cimes1 Carole, you really are the sweetest thing! Thank you for the hug and your wonderful comments! I'm sure I won't have time to stress over falling behind. LOL! I don't want to lose touch with you! xo
@sassik Thank you so very much for your lovely comments, Sassik! Always appreciated! xo
@amandalomonaco Aww! Amanda, thank you so much for your wonderful comments! LOL! No, it's not a graphic designer or photographer job. I'm afraid I'll have to leave that behind me and just do these things as a hobby when I have time. My new job is much more physical requiring neither a degree, skill or experience. I won't complain! To have a job in this economy is a great blessing and I will just feel so much better to be earning an income again. xo
@cdonohoue You are a dear, Cathy! Let's never lose touch! Thank you for your kind comments, as always! I will continue with 365 as I can. However, it is likely to be sporadic at best. xo
@cheribug LOL! Thank you so much, Cheryl! I always enjoy your visit! Appreciate your wonderful comments! I will continue with 365, but I won't be able to be here daily as I have been. xo
@sugarmuser Thank you, Sharon! I sure can use it! xo
@daisy Kathryn, you are a sweetheart! Thank you for your lovely comments! I do appreciate them so much. I, too, enjoy your photos! I will continue with 365 as often as I can. You're stuck with me a while longer. xo
So happy to hear the good news, Maggie. Beautiful photo to celebrate your new beginning ... prayers are answered everyday. You and I know that. You will do fine with the job ...and with your "smarts" you'll probably get promoted in no time. I don't doubt that for a minute. Just remember that you're not "old" ... but you have what others don't have. Wisdom and experience. You'll go a long way. Don't worry about the project. Come on when you can ... I know that photography is your creative outlet and your passion. Keep taking photos when you can. Good luck! :)
@karenann You are so smart, Karen! It is my only creative outlet at the moment. So, I won't let go. Thank you for your beautiful comments and the vote of confidence. LOL! I'm really not looking for a promotion - just an honest day's work for an honest day's pay. That's all I can ask or hope for! Love you, gal! xo
Congratulations! I'm praying for a smooth start for you. Change is always stressful, even when it is for the good. But, I know you'll thrive because you have the right attitude and heart. We are here to support you. It is poignant that this phase starts as your 365 year (one) comes to a finale!
Oh, maggie, the news of your job MADE MY DAY. I know how difficult it is when you are out of work. So very happy for you. I pray that it will be a wonderful transition. You are such a hard worker--that is obvious from what you do here. Wherever you work, they will be so lucky to have you.
Wonderful news, Maggie! I'm so happy for you. It will be difficult to post a pic every day, but do it as and when you can... Thank you for all your encouragement and comments - I have loved hearing from you, but nobody would expect you to maintain all the commenting if you are working FT. I hope you thoroughly enjoy your job!
This is beautiful!! The color and the light and the bokeh!!! Congrats on your new job! I am sure you will be amazing! You seem to put your heart in everything you do from photography to gardening! Your new employer is lucky to have you!
That is great news Maggie!! Glad to hear you are a taxpayer again! Our President is running low on cash (:
I really hope this job works out for you!! You'll do fine I am sure!
Oh yes, fantastic shot of the crepe and particularly the bokeh!!
Hooray!!! I was wondering but wasn't sure if I should ask. Love this shot and the cool shaped bokeh! I am near the end too. We should agree to meet back once a week or once a month to check in. I feel like you are a friend so wouldn't want to just say goodbye.
I am so happy for you, Maggie. Wow, it just does not get better than this. Take good care of yourself as that is most important. What a gorgeous photo to celebrate your news. Pretty pink flowers. It may be tough to get back to work but you are a strong woman. I look forward to hearing how it goes at work. I just read part of what Karen wrote and I was thinking the same thing. I see you moving up the ladder quickly. They have said they are hiring more and more older people for their "Smarts" and experience. Best of luck to you and keep on taking photos and we will comment on them and be happy to see them. You can tell us your story of getting back in the workforce through your photos as you have time. Always here to support you. Hugs to you!!
Congrats on your new job!! yes, what you said makes perfect sense. you need to focus on your new job, which I know you will succeed at! I haven't been following you long, but it's easy to see that you are a special person. I think they made an excellent choice hiring you:)
Congrats on the new job. It's certainly a FAV. I know you'll give the new job all you've got, but I expect more roses...you do have to take time to smell them. :-) All best and hope to see you here whenever you find the time.
@ronphotos365 Thank you, Ron! LOL! I will try! Working 10-hour shifts, I may just come home and crash for a while!
@darsphotos Thank you for all your support and encouraging words, Darlene! I will be here a while yet and I don't plan on leaving the project for long! I would miss you and so many others! Hugs! xo
@wannabe That sounds like a good plan, Catherine! I'm NOT saying goodbye! LOL! Thank you for your lovely comments and all your support! xo
@groovygirlrn Thank you, Sheri! I appreciate that! xo
@aleksandra Grateful for your kind comments, Aleksandra! Thank you very much! xo
@beckys You are right, Becky! It was hard but, it will soon be over. Thank you for your lovely comments and vote of confidence! xo
@skipt07 Thank you for your lovely comments, Skip! I really hope it works out, too! We really don't have choices or options in this blood sucking economy! I hope we see a landslide election and mandate in November like we did in 1980. Otherwise, I fear it's only going to get worse. xo
@twinsplusone Sharon, you are such a sweetheart! Thank you so much for your wonderful comments and vote of confidence! If I can meet and exceed my quotas, keep a good attitude and do everything well, they might consider themselves lucky and keep me for a while. =) xo
@janturnbull Thank you, Janet! I do enjoy reading your comments and appreciate your visit! Sage advice! I take it, gladly! I won't stay away! I would miss you and your photos too much! xo
@yonnie Yvonne, you are a treasure! I love every single word you wrote! Thank you for your wonderful comments and support! I hope that I'll do well and they'll be happy to have and keep me. Not too many other options or offers in the wind these days. xo
Oh...nice... I was wondering what they would look like and they are gorgeous! Lovely capture.
YAY...Congrats on the job...it is hard to be addicted to this and work too, but it's doable to some degree. Don't beat yourself up about it...make sure you rest well, especially at the beginning (and drink lots of fluid!). You go girl!
@marlboromaam I am with you 100 percent Maggie! I hesitate to bring up politics because we are bombarded on TV with the hype and lies. If this president isn't a one term president we can say goodbye to the America we once knew and love!! Nuff said!
Wonderful news!!! Congratulations! Being a full time worker myself, I know that it can take away from my me-time. Luckily, I hate to clean so I can be easily distracted from that responsibility and am quick to hop in the car and head for the shore ;)
Beautiful flowers ~ I love these !! Heading to Myrtle Beach next week so hopefully they'll be in bloom when I get there :)
@anazad511 Thank you, Ana! Appreciate your support and comments!
@paulaag Oh, Paula! Your comments and support really made my night! Thank you! I really appreciate it! xo
@johns366 You are very kind, John! Thank you for your comments and support! Always appreciated! xo
@binny Thank you, Binny! Appreciate your comments and vote of confidence! I hope they do! xo
@lynnb Grateful for your lovely comments, Lynn! Thank you! xo
@skipt07 Anyone with any common sense doesn't need the network hype to see the truth... all they have to do is look around at their neighbors, the homes in foreclosure, the businesses with closed doors and the ever growing lack of choices in the grocery stores with the ever growing prices. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out! Ahh, but so many lack common sense these days, too!
@gabsview Thank you, Gabrielle! I really appreciate your kind comments and support! Hope you have a great time at the beach! I hope you'll get lots of shells, sand and surf shots along with a few beach scenes!
So FAV! Because the photo is beautiful - my favorite of your series. Also because this is the news we have all been waiting for! And it is such a great moment of how this place becomes a community when we let each other in. I thought of you this morning and hoped today would be the day you would hear. YAY for you. Yes, life will be different as you get used to a new job and managing a shot a day. It's not easy as it is - but all the more challenging when working full time. SO - patience with yourself. Know of course that we'll all be rooting for you. High fives!
And you’ve done it again with another outstanding photograph! Look at that bokeh and that wonderful light shining on beautiful pink crepes! Well done! Fav!
And congratulations on your new job! I wish you much success as you bring in the bacon! haha
What Great News! Gods Timming is Perfect! He let you get through your year and no pressure!! Love all that you have done for each one of us ! So I Hope you Enjoy your Job and the end of your Project and Do Stay On if you Can!! xxoo..Nice Crepe Myrtle Too!! :)
A fantastically beautiful shot! I love the colours and bokeh! So glad to hear your news about the job, all the best to you in your new start! A definite Fav!
Awesome!! I am so happy for you Maggie!! I am sure what ever the job is you will be great at it! I think I like the pink the most! Beautiful capture! Love the bokeh!!
Ah, Maggie - your gain will definitely be my loss, as I look forward to what you do every day. I'm glad you're not planning to disappear, though. And SO HAPPY for you - as Cathy says, prayers answered. You've hung in there through an incredibly hard time and have been one of the most supportive and encouraging people imaginable in this community; I would like to think that I could have the courage, good will and incredible artistry that you've showed us every day. God bless, Maggie.
@lyno You are so sweet, Lyn! Thank you so much for your kind and lovely comments! I will work four 10-hour days and then be off for three. I probably won't be able to post every day but, I will still try to upload a photo for every day and catch up with yours, too. You are so sweet! I really appreciate the support you've shown me and others. May God bless you, too! xo
Congratulations on your new job!!! I am so happy for you :) However, please please do not disappear after your 365th as I would so miss your truly brilliant, creative and inspirational photographs!
@linzi76 Aww! Lynsey, you are so kind! Thank you for your lovely and thoughtful comments! You made my day! I won't disappear! I'll still show up but, I doubt if I can make it every day. I would miss you, your pics and some others too much, if I stayed away for very long. I think I would go into withdrawal! This is my only creative outlet at the moment. Cheers!
That made so much sense! Congratulations! That is wonderful news. It has been a privilege so far to spend all this time with you. I am only able to be on here so much because I'm studying from home this year, on the computer so it's easy to pop on and off of this site. I cannot imagine you disappearing, but you need to have your other life as well!
@carolinedreams Thank you, Caroline! I appreciate your kind and thoughtful comments! I won't disappear entirely. I'd miss you and your photos too much! xo
Grat capture Maggie! And great news about your job...congrats! I have treasured your comments and looked forward to all your wonderful shots! I hope that your new job will allow you more time than you think because I would sure miss seeing your beautiful photography!
@kdei Kim, you are so very kind and sweet! Thank you for all your lovely comments! I appreciate every word you wrote and I hope so! I really hope so because I would miss this way too much!
And fall behind all you want as long as you stay with us. You have been so kind to me to help me along and encourage me and share your work and wisdom. I appreciate that every day.
