I have four colors of crepe myrtles. The pink you saw in yesterday's pic. The white will follow this pic and still waiting on the watermelon red to bud.
Trying to stay a little ahead here before things get a little hectic. 25 more to go!
Soooooooooooo pretty!!!!!! It's good you can get ahead. I wish I could just find 1 thing to photograph today. It's supposed to get up to 110 degrees today. Don't want to leave the air conditioning!
@lynnb They start out about the size of bushes but get to be small tree size, depending on how you keep them trimmed. My watermelon red is about 15 feet tall and probably 10 feet wide. I don't know! LOL! I'll have to Google them to see what climates they will grow in.
Amazing how beautiful flowers come out of buds. Love this color and photo, Maggie. Your place must be looking great with all this color. Now I know what I want to plant as I have seen these around here and wondered what they were.
@darsphotos LOL! They do become trees. They don't stay small compact bushes. My watermelon red is about 15 feet tall and 10 feet wide. They really aren't shrubs, but trees. Thank you, Darlene! Appreciate your lovely comments more than you know!
@marlboromaam I guess this is not what I am seeing around here, Maggie. The flowers look similar but a lot smaller more like shrubs or small trees. Thank you for clearing that up as we do not have the room for anything that large. Take care.
