Blotchy black patches... by marlboromaam

Blotchy black patches...

Called "honey dew" and left over from the secretions made by the wooly aphids on my pyracantha bush. I got rid of the bugs by spraying them with dish soap. The branches will have to be pruned back, but hoping not until the berries turn bright red first.

Great details. Hopefully the berrie will ripe soon.

Fabulous shot of the berries and gorgeous bokeh.

I agree with you, the berries are beautiful only when they turn red or rippen. Good way to clean the bush from bugs; much better and healthy then a pesticide.

Great capture, dish soap seems to work on most pests and much safer for the environment.

@larrysphotos Thanks, Larry! Doesn't seem to work very well on spider mites, but it got rid of the wooly aphids. =)
