The woods and the wash... by marlboromaam

The woods and the wash...

We had a hurricane in 2015 and the wash was a deep river of water from the runoff on the hill and road. Was very frightening for a while. We received over 23 inches of rain in a very short period of time. Named "The Rain Train" because it kept on coming from the coast. My driveway was a shallow river too - about two-feet deep. I don't ever want to see that again. Still two and half months of hurricane season left this year.
Great processing with this painting effect !

@dutchothotmailcom Yes! There are four out in the Atlantic right now, with more expected to form before the end of November.

Lovely edit on this shot... our basement flooded for the first time during Hurricane Michael... we’ve since resolved the issues and now we have to run and check every time we get an abundance of rain... like now. Happy to say we are dry inside.

Very nice shot

@kvphoto Thanks, KV! That's good that you're dry. I got 5 inches in about 5 hours. Had to empty the rain gauge with more on the way. Stay safe and dry!

That's a horrific story you've shared. Yikes. The editing touch you've given this pic is very eye-catching.
You asked about pinning a couple of earlier photos. Yes, definitely. I'm curious; where are these being pinned??
September 17th, 2020
@kvphoto Sun is out here now too. Haven't checked the rain gauge yet. Maybe another inch or two.

@lyndemc Thank you, Denise! All my 365er FAV pin boards are listed right under my profile. They are now all organized with sections for easier view and inspiration. They are strictly for 365er photos I fav. Nothing else gets pinned to them.

lovely shot ... Hope no more hurricanes for you.
It's OK if you pin my Early Morning Fisherman photo. Thanks.

@samae Only two hours from the South Carolina coast, hurricanes are going to effect our weather if they hit it. In today's case, it moved right up from Alabama and Florida, passed through Georgia and hammered some of us with seven inches of rain in just a few hours. LOL! But still here. =)

@marlboromaam Thanks for that explanation. I was just curious. I'm familiar with the word 'pin' in association with Pinterest and see now that I've checked out your links. I'm honored that you've asked to include a number of mine. Thanks! And "yes" to all your latest pin requests. You're so very polite. In the future though, no need to ask; you can just say something like "I'm pinning this one." and I'm good. That okay?
September 18th, 2020
@lyndemc I'll add you to my list of okay to pin and thank you very much! I will always let you know if I'm pinning. =)
