Dangerous beauty finale... by marlboromaam

Dangerous beauty finale...

Thought I'd show what the overall plant looks like in the grass. Easy to miss if you're not watching where you step and I don't advise walking around barefoot anyway - because of snakes! The flower stalk - also heavily armed with spikes - comes up in spring or summer. Not much chance of that since it would be mowed down come late spring.

First shot in the series with link info is here - https://365project.org/marlboromaam/365/2021-01-23
Ouch. Great find and capture.

I was walking in Mexico barefooted at one time and Hans and I like to explore. we got away from the beach and I stepped into one of those. he had to almost carry me back to the resort. the plant looked just like yours, only a bit more dried up. love your picture and narrative.

That plant is low to the ground... I think I’ve seen something similar in our neighborhood.

@kvphoto I'm sure you have, KV. There are several varieties of thistle around our parts.
