For those who wanted to see some scale in my woods... The silver pole leaning against the pine is six feet long which gives you an idea of the height. I can't wrap my arms around that pine and touch my fingers which gives you an idea of the width. The Spanish oak in the distance (the tree with the nub sticking out like an amputated arm) is much wider than this pine.
Gives a good idea of the size of these trees. Beautiful textures on the bark of the trees . I see three different species close to each other. Very nice lighting too.
The maths person in me couldn’t let this pass. Using the pole as a guid the tree has an estimated diameter of 2 to 3 feet which multiplied by Pi would give a tree circumference of approximately 6 to 9 feet. A long way. Good I’m happy now. Oh and great shot too.
@phil_howcroft Thanks, Phil! Nothing spectacular here. A few wanted to see some scale in my woods.
