But the Asian lady beetle. The "M" gives its identity away. You say there's no difference between this bug and our sweet lady bug? Oh, but there is. Think of the differences between a poodle and a doberman! For one thing these beetles are aggressive and will bite. They also give off a stink from their legs if they think they're being attacked. I found this one on a wall in my bedroom. They like to find their way inside houses during the winter. For more about the differences between our lady bug and this beetle see this link here - https://www.thespruce.com/good-and-bad-ladybugs-2656236 and more about this bug here - https://hgic.clemson.edu/factsheet/multicolored-asian-lady-beetles/
They also kill and eat native ladybirds/ ladybugs, and the eggs and larvae in the UK.
They also come in multiple colours. Not only Red/ black but yellow/ black, Orange / black a few spots / multiple spots. Very very variable.
Great close up. We had an invasion of these a couple of years ago and needed to educate friends as they thought that I was ruthless in getting rid of them.
@kjarn I thought so too, until one bit me and I just didn't think that was normal. So I started researching the web and found out about these.
@wakelys I think we've been having an invasion for a long time now. I only saw one Lady Bug all summer, but lots of these getting in the house off and on all year.
@cocobella LOL! Don't do like I did and pick one up just to have it bite you.

@dutchothotmailcom LOL! You're probably fine.
@joysabin I agree!
Nice shot
@phil_howcroft Ha ha! Not normally. Thank you, Phil!
