What's for breakfast...

This one's for Pam @pamalama. I shot another one of these puff balls earlier here - https://365project.org/marlboromaam/365/2022-09-22 I have often thought they looked like a muffin or a homemade loaf of bread. Pam said they were edible and sure enough they are! I cut this one in half. It has the texture of a dry spongey bread dough and it smells just like the white button mushrooms you buy at the grocery store. I didn't get to fry this one up in butter with some chopped onions, but it's on my to do list! Check out this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tl1QgMb1_jU

Seven more shots to go to the end of the month and this album will be retired for a while. =)
A great photo opportunity. This is a big mushroom. Let us know what you think about their taste.

Oh my goodness! It is a beauty! I am so jealous ha ha. I watched the video, and it was funny how he said it looked like a soccer ball. That is exactly what I thought it was the first time I saw one. I hope you get a chance to eat one. :)

@corinnec Thank you, Corinne. I took a little taste and it's very mild like a white button mushroom.

@pamalama Thank you very much, Pam. These aren't the giant variety, but I hope to eat one soon!

@pattyblue Thank you very much, Pat.

@365jgh Thank you, Judy.

I watched the video. I've seen small puff balls, but didn't know they were edible. Also didn't know how huge they can get. Great information and nice capture.
