Scenes from the road...

Shot 3/2. Those burgundy red splotches in the trees on both sides of the road are the blooms of the red bud maple trees. Also known as Eastern Red Maple and/or Swamp Maple. I've never seen one for sale in a plant nursery, but they sure are plentiful in the wild around here. More on this tree here - http://namethatplant.net/plantdetail.shtml?plant=14
This is a great road shot, with that parade of trucks on the other side.
You sure do have your selection of trees!!

@kvphoto I love to see them on the road. Mine has finally started to bloom, but no cedar waxwings yet.

@marlboromaam the cedar waxwings are beautiful... I’ve never seen one here.

@kvphoto They eat the blooms of the red bud maples. Had no idea until I saw it with my own eyes. https://365project.org/marlboromaam/my-2nd-365/2021-02-28

@marlboromaam I remember seeing that shot... so awesome. It is surprising what birds eat.
