It's a wild native shrub and a member of the blueberry family. It's found in Georgia, North and South Carolina. Not sure about any of the other southern states. The little bell shaped blossoms are very small (much smaller than my little finger nail). It's growing wild on the far left side of my front and backyards in the shade of the wild pine, oak, mocker nut, sassafras, sweet gum and dogwood trees.

@beckys Thank you, Becky! They are edible, but I've never tried one yet. I can imagine that they're a lot like wild strawberries though. Probably not much flavor. Wild tiny black cherries, on the other hand, are delicious!
