When the dinosaurs heard that the 365 Toys' theme this week was licorice, most of them were very disappointed. Like me, they don't care for the taste of licorice (or, in the case of a couple of dinosaurs who haven't tried it, assume they won't like it. Peer pressure being what it is.)
But the Triceratops twins were the exception and THEIR disappointment stemmed from my insisting that I wasn't going to buy any for them just for this project! Blech! Well, they got on the internet, found Licorice International in Lincoln, Nebraska, and started planning a road trip. The Google map they pulled up says it's just a two and 1/2 hour trip from Manhattan. The Allosaurus doesn't plan to go, but strangely enough he has really good navigational skills, has learned to decipher maps, and is helping them plot our their route.
I hate to break it to them, they are so keen on going today, but I already plan to stay here, walk in the Little Apple Pride Parade this afternoon, and work on my get pushed challenge. (Plus, of course, my mom and I are doing our usual grocery shopping this morning.)
Lincoln, Nebraska is a two and 1/2 hour journey IN A CAR. Without me driving them, I don't think they could make it there and back in a week, let alone a day trip, even if they had cool licorice root walking sticks like @bill_fe gave Cubebot.
Sorry, @365toygroup I guess my dinosaurs won't be playing with you this week. This is as close as they are likely to come to licorice this weekend.
