Subtitled: "The World Has Turned Upside Down! Save the Children!"
Paula W @paulaw gave me the get pushed challenge of making "an image that sums up Mary the person." I really don't think I have the skill and imagination to sum up myself in one image. But I can show one side of myself. As I was coming in through the back yard the other day, I noticed the brick that has been sitting in the middle of the grass on one side of the sidewalk. So I went and picked it up to move it to the patio. It was swarming with little ants on the bottom and on the ground where it had laid. I had turned their world upside down. I flashed back to my childhood. I was often either climbing a tree or down on my hands and knees watching ants. Of course back then I wasn't reaching for the camera trying to capture their panicked scurrying about moving the eggs to safer locations. Back then I just watched them. But it occurred to me that I may not have progressed very far in all those intervening years. I'm not the bug fanatic and photographer extraordinaire that MaryBeth @espyetta is, but I know a good show when I see it, and was for a time distracted from all the other things I should have been doing.
Me too! I loved watching them, in fact there is a huge ant hill in my yard, I was just filming with my husband three days ago. I would have bet the child me would have been on my tummy beside you.
Detailed shot and background, its always interesting to see a where are they now, I often wonder about people I went to school with. like it very much...
@mcsiegle Great minds think alike! Or should that be forget ...... This is a thoughtful and heart warming image Mary, a perfect response to the challenge I would say. Have a lovely weekend.
