Fork Week -- Day Five by mcsiegle

Fork Week -- Day Five

So... I got out the DSLR on Friday and that night (rather late, actually) he and I began working on artsy images -- some using the iPad, seen here (thanks to Northy for the reminder her photos gave me, that the iPad was a possibility). Other shots involved a mirror (again, thanks to Northy's images for reminder of options.) I processed a number of them Saturday night -- again, rather late!

We had a blast using the iPad app "Photo Light" for lighting on the shots using the mirror, and for backgrounds, like this dotted number. This pattern and a couple of others made him rather dizzy and light-headed. I had to help him up after this bit and he said he felt like what he imagined to be a '60s LSD trip. I have no experience with that, so I referred him to appropriate Wikipedia articles and a website featuring vintage San Francisco psychedelic poster art.

The next day I found him using the iPad to look up info on psychedelic mushrooms, which scared the bejeezus out of me. You've gotta be really careful what mushrooms you consume and how -- and that's just harvesting regular mushrooms for culinary use. The only ones I'm certain I can recognize are Morel mushrooms. Yum! I have no desire to end up eating a poisonous mushroom by mistake. I sat down and skimmed the Wikipedia article on the mushrooms, the psilocybin they contain, and possible effects. It's best to be educated on these things -- especially when someone in the household is exhibiting interest. And ESPECIALLY when that someone is in regular contact with my lips. He hasn't said anything more about it today (writing and posting this on Sunday) so fingers crossed it was just an idle curiosity. Curiosity is something I have in spades. Many times there's no real interest in the subject in question -- just curiosity!

Anyway, here's "Fork on Dots" -- enjoy! I can't wait to see how it looks on black!
